![]() I have yet to go through the Darkest Dungeon (probably a little scared, even though I've already beaten Vvulf). The Affliction system also seems to works differently with him: he can only be afflicted by one status named “Rapturous,” which makes him deal damage to both, allies and enemies. The catch is that he's more effective at low health, or when at Death's Door. The Flagellant is supposedly a healer, as well as a frontliner capable of dealing a good amount of damage. Speaking of which, the expansion also introduces one new hero, The Flagellant (reveal trailer). ![]() The expansion also introduces new ways to upgrade the Hamlet, as well as new “lore-driven” Trinkets for all heroes. ![]() This has not been elaborated on by the developers, so I'm not entirely sure if it's true. In addition, the new area is supposed to feature “massive, sprawling maps with locked doors, prisoner rooms, and progress saves.” The last bit is interesting, since it seems to suggest that the new maps are large enough that they warrant mid-dungeon save points. The Crimson Court introduces one new area, The Courtyard, where you'll encounter an entirely new enemy faction and four new bosses, including a wandering boss, called The Fanatic. The expansion won't be out on the PS4 until the following month, so mid-July at the earliest.Įdit: As of July 3rd, the developers said that they're targeting August 22nd for the PSN release. The June 19th release date unfortunately only pertains to the PC version. After a delay, or two, The Crimson Court – the first paid expansion for Darkest Dungeon – finally has a release date (June 19th, 2017) and a price tag ($9.99).
